Hotel Details
Climbing up the slopes of Mont Odile in the charming Wine Route village of Ottrot, you come to the picture-postcard facade of hotelier and chef Patrick Fritz's hotel, with its pale ochre walls and shuttered windows, under which a profusion of brightly coloured geraniums cascade from window boxes.
Inside, it's equally romantic, if a bit formal, with a smart restaurant (you can also eat on the terrace) and downstairs, a wienstube where in chilly weather dinners can be taken in front of a roaring fire. Mainly traditional Alsatian food is served, best accompanied by Ottrot's own red wine. Bedrooms are smart and comfortable. All a little overdone for our taste, but you get a good night's sleep and in our opinion the bill at the end is very fair value.
Hotel L'Ami Fritz offers a heating outdoor pool from May to October, a comfortable lounge area and a garden. The pool is located in the hotel's annexe just 600 metres away. |
